NAIOP SoCal is pleased to announce that it is currently seeking nominations for its 5th Annual NAIOP SoCal Awards Show taking place at the California Club in Los Angeles on Thursday, May 7, 2026. This Awards Show recognizes leaders in the Southern California Commercial Real Estate Development Industry and brings together NAIOP SoCal members, nominees, and guests to celebrate their innovation and commitment to the commercial real estate industry and NAIOP SoCal.
Submission Fee: The non-refundable entry fee is $250 per submission and $200 for additional submissions which are due at the time of entry.
**Nominations are being accepted through March 2, 2026**
NAIOP SoCal Awards Show Categories
Principal/Developer/Owner of the Year
The award honors a commercial real estate firm whose exceptional work on one or more 2025 development projects sets it apart from its peers. Judges will consider factors such as project volume and complexity, risk, community or industry impact, innovation, and overall quality. Nominations may include up to three projects. **Firms are eligible to win the Principal/Developer/Owner of the Year award twice during a five-year period.
Broker of the Year
The award recognizes an individual broker or team whose performance in 2025 set them apart in the industry. Judges will consider their impact on commercial real estate, contributions beyond the industry, and the value delivered to clients. **Individual Brokers or Brokerage teams are eligible to win the Broker of the Year award twice during a five-year period.
Deal of the Year
The award recognizes a transaction or development team that showed exceptional creativity in completing a real estate deal. Judges will consider factors such as financial impact, partnership and scheduling complexity, and overall risk and reward.
Contractor of the Year
This award honors a general contractor or construction firm whose performance in 2025 demonstrated exceptional leadership, execution, and impact within Southern California’s commercial real estate industry. Judges will consider the firm’s project volume and complexity, quality of construction, innovation, safety record, collaboration with project partners, and contributions to the industry and community. Eligible nominees include general contractors and construction firms involved in commercial real estate projects completed in 2025. Nominations may include up to three (3) projects completed in Southern California during the eligibility period.
Service Provider of the Year
The award recognizes a service provider (non-broker) who made a significant impact in 2025 in a manner that makes them stand out among their peers. The Service Provider of the Year will be awarded based on their impact in the commercial real estate industry, their contributions outside of real estate and their exceptional customer service. Eligible service providers include, but are not limited to: Architectural Firms, Financial Services, Law Firms, Title Companies, etc. Brokers are excluded from this Category. **Firms are eligible to win the Service Provider of the Year award twice during a five-year period.
Multi-Family Project of the Year
The award recognizes a new residential community that excels in service both to the residents and the community. This award category recognizes a multi-family project that exhibits a development team’s commitment to an outstanding quality product, success in the marketplace, and uniqueness in the design of a project. Judges will evaluate aspects such as, but not limited to, project concept and design, tenant benefits, amenities, accomplishment of overall development goals, sustainability, degree of difficulty, and innovation.
Community Impact Project of the Year
The award recognizes a project that made a significant impact in the community it serves with exemplary design, construction, and development excellence while creating lasting and positive social, economic and environmental impacts. Judges will evaluate elements such as, but not limited to, the significance of the short-term and projected long-term impacts on the community, including jobs, social benefits, and environmental and physical amenities.
Industrial Build-to-Suit Development Project of the Year
This award recognizes a built-to-suit industrial project that exhibits a development team’s commitment to an outstanding quality product, success in the marketplace, and uniqueness in the design of a project. Judges will evaluate aspects such as, but not limited to, project concept and design, tenant benefits, amenities, accomplishment of overall development goals, sustainability, degree of difficulty, and innovation.
Industrial Speculative Development Project of the Year
This award recognizes a speculative industrial project that exhibits a development team’s commitment to an outstanding quality product, success in the marketplace, and uniqueness in the design of the project. Judges will evaluate aspects such as, but not limited to, project concept and design, tenant benefits, amenities, accomplishment of overall development goals, sustainability, degree of difficulty, and innovation.
Office Project of the Year
This award recognizes an office project that exhibits a team’s commitment to an outstanding quality product, success in the marketplace, and uniqueness in design. Judges will evaluate aspects such as, but not limited to, project concept and design, tenant benefits including health and wellness, amenities, accomplishment of overall development goals, sustainability, degree of difficulty, and innovation.
Mixed-Use/ Retail Project of the Year
This award recognizes a retail or mixed-use project that exhibits a team’s commitment to an outstanding quality product, success in the marketplace, and uniqueness in design. Judges will evaluate aspects such as, but not limited to, project concept and design, tenant benefits, amenities, accomplishment of overall development goals, sustainability, degree of difficulty, and innovation.
Interior Project of the Year
This award recognizes an interior project that exhibits the team’s commitment to an outstanding quality product, success in the marketplace, tenant appreciation, and uniqueness in design of a project. Judges will evaluate aspects such as, but not limited to, project concept and design, tenant benefits, amenities, accomplishment of overall development goals, sustainability, degree of difficulty, and innovation.
Redevelopment/Renovation Project of the Year
This award recognizes a redevelopment/renovation project in commercial real estate (industrial, office, multi-family, retail, hospitality) that exhibits the team’s commitment to an outstanding quality product, success in the marketplace, and uniqueness in design. Judges will evaluate aspects such as, but not limited to, project concept and design, tenant benefits, amenities, resources, accomplishment of overall development goals, sustainability, degree of difficulty, and innovation.
Sustainable Project of the Year
This award honors a project that demonstrates excellence in design, construction, and development while delivering lasting social, economic, and environmental benefits. Projects will be evaluated on their: (1) Environmental impact – conservation of ecology, energy, and resources. (2) Community health and wellness – benefits inside and outside the building. (3) Social impact – promotion of equity at local and regional levels. (4) Economic impact – cost-effectiveness, economic vitality, and support for local/regional growth. (5) Innovation – creative solutions that drive positive change or advance industry best practices.
Developing Leader of the Year
The award recognizes a developing leader who has made a significant contribution to the Southern California commercial real estate market and the advancement of NAIOP SoCal. Qualifying Criteria: (1) 35 years of age and under. (2) Active Developing Leader Member of NAIOP SoCal in 2025. (3) Commercial Real Estate Professional. **Individuals are eligible to win the Developing Leader of the Year award twice during a five-year period.
Commercial Real Estate Woman (CREW) of the Year - Sponsored by CREW Los Angeles
This award recognizes a woman who has made a significant contribution to Southern California commercial real estate in 2025. The CRE Woman of the Year will be awarded based on the individual's impact in the commercial real estate industry, her contributions outside of real estate, and the value she brings to her clients, co-workers and company. **Individuals are eligible to win the Commercial Real Estate Woman of the Year award twice during a five-year period.
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) Award
The award recognizes a company that has demonstrated leadership to advance diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA) in the commercial real estate industry. **Firms are eligible to win the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility award twice during a five-year period.
